Director, Neighborhood IMPACT and Lasting IMPACT

Winta has been with IMPACT for the last four years holding various positions in the organization. Currently, she is the Director of Neighborhood IMPACT, our core leadership development and community action program.  She started working for the organization as an Americorps Program Assistant coordinating the Community Empowerment Program and was most recently the Lead Organizer for IMPACT in the Schools, a parent empowerment and education program.

Winta is very active in the Ethiopian community in the Washington Metropolitan area.  She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park.  Originally from Ethiopia, Winta has been living in the United States for 7 years.  In her spare time, Winta runs a small jewelery business called Raiy Crafts and one day wants to own an antique jewelry store.
