IMPACT Announces Launch of New Giving Funds
IMPACT Silver Spring is pleased to announce the launch of two new funds to support its diverse community network and activities. The funds have been created after receiving a $20,000 gift from an anonymous donor who has challenged IMPACT to raise an equivalent amount—above and beyond annual contributions—by June 2011.
IMPACT Innovation Fund
The IMPACT Innovation Fund supports IMPACT Silver Spring’s unique approach to social innovation and entrepreneurship. We know that our community needs new solutions to the challenges posed by our extreme diversity, and IMPACT is pushing the envelope at every turn. We invite donors interested in non-traditional responses and experimentation to invest with this fund—and to engage in conversation with us around the challenges we face through semi-annual Innovation Breakfasts.
An inaugural breakfast was held over the summer, attended by 40 interested donors, to introduce the fund and discuss innovations and challenges around English language learning and crossing class lines in our community.

Gifts of all size are welcome. Prospective investors are invited to attend Innovation Breakfasts, held annually.

Momentum Fund
The Momentum Fund provides stipends to participants of IMPACT Silver Spring’s empowerment and leadership programs, enabling residents from less privileged walks of life to become engaged members of the community. In its inaugural year, the Fund specifically supports the Parent Educator Program and Neighbor Corps.
Gifts of $300 fund one participant for the duration of the program. Investors are invited to take part in celebrations that IMPACT hosts at the end of each program, scheduled at various points throughout the year.
