LASTING IMPACT
A leadership network for collaborative community action
Lasting IMPACT is a leadership network providing a means for community members to collaborate for community action and change. Through meetings and gatherings, educational activities and resource-sharing, the program provides opportunities for continuing leadership development and intensive leadership support to community action teams. The network also facilitates communication and collaboration and incubates new community projects through on-line information exchange and referral, forums and peer and mentor support.
Community Education & Social Networking
IMPACT holds various educational sesions and social networking events about local community concerns to encourage collaborative, cross-cultural resolutions and to identify leadership opportunities.
- Silver Spring Action is an annual networking event held in the fall, bringing IMPACT friends and community leaders together to celebrate Silver Spring and connect on community issues.
- Swap Meets are informal gatherings for socializing, sharing information and networking with others and are held on various topics of interest.
- Opening New Doors is a series of community education sessions to raise awareness about and broaden access to available local resources
Action Teams
Action teams are comprised of IMPACT’s program graduates and community members who work closely to develop collaborative solutions for community issues. The teams meet regularly to pursue specific action projects in the community.
Lasting IMPACT Fellowship
Provides a 12-month framework of support to members who commit to significant team projects in the community. Fellows pull an action team together and receive leadership coaching and guidance for their initiative. |
