2010 Summer Internship through the Maryland Nonprofit Leadership Program
IMPACT Silver Spring is one of the sites for the Maryland Nonprofit Leadership Program, a summer internship program.
Intern applicants must meet these criteria:
- College juniors, seniors, and graduate students attending Maryland institutions.
- Work for ten weeks full-time from June 1st to August 6th while participating in bi-weekly seminars in nonprofit management.
Each participating student receives a $3,000 stipend from the Shriver Center. Application deadline is March 22!
IMPACT's intern will have the following responsibilities:
- Assistant to the Deputy Director: Support Deputy Director with management oversight of programmatic areas of organization: administrative task support, evaluation processes, best practices research. Experience Gained: Program planning and community context; exposure to nonprofit management.
- Neighbors Campaign & Program Assistant: Support unique community grassroots campaign to connect residents to emergency services: help with recruitment, planning, coordination, implementation, and data collection of door-knocking activities, neighborhood resource sessions, neighborhood leadership training, economic empowerment teams. Experience Gained: Community outreach and organizing; cross-cultural interaction and teamwork with diverse community/staff members; project logistics and coordination; networking with nonprofit county agency partners.
