Long Branch Network Manager
IMPACT Silver Spring seeks a Long Branch Network Manager for immediate hire. The Long Branch Network Manager leads a team of staff, residents and community partners responsible for building a new neighborhood based network in the Long Branch area and supporting residents along a continuum of engagement, empowerment, leadership development and community action. The position includes implementing the Neighbors Campaign in Long Branch – a community-based response to the economic crisis that is being spearheaded by IMPACT in coordination with the Department of Health and Human Services and other community partners. As part of this effort, the Network Manager is responsible for meeting the dual goals of connecting residents to each other and to emergency services by conducting extensive outreach activities that includes door knocking and community events. Additionally, the position requires working with other staff and partners to implement a range of empowerment and leadership development strategies to build the capacity of diverse network members to initiate and sustain short and long term community change projects.

AmeriCorps Community Builders: Wheaton and Gaithersburg
IMPACT Silver Spring seeks two enthusiastic self-starters to join our Neighbors Campaign project teams in Wheaton and Gaithersburg. The Campaign is a unique public-nonprofit partnership between Montgomery County government and community nonprofits around refashioning the delivery of emergency direct services in the immediate context of the economic crisis. The components of the Campaign and associated IMPACT activities involve extensive door-knocking; coordination with county triage centers; focused training and skill-building sessions, including Economic Empowerment and Leadership Development for community members; and the establishment of Neighbor Circles as mutual support networks in neighborhoods. Participants will learn firsthand about grassroots community organizing, public policy and implementation, non-profit program implementation and support, all in the framework of our very diverse and multicultural community.

Part-Time Communications Assistant
IMPACT Silver Spring seeks a skilled Communications Assistant to support the organization in sharing its brand and stories with the community. The Communications Assistant is a part-time, paid internship for a college senior or graduate student who is interested in applying technical skills in PR, marketing, and journalism in an entrepreneurial nonprofit setting. The Assistant will serve as the primary support staff on organizational communications projects.
